Wednesday With Love-Refillable Sachets

'Tis the season to start thinking about Christmas presents, not to mention all of those hostess & teacher gifts! I LOVE to give homemade gifts as much as I adore receiving them. Here are some sew-easy sachets you can make to give. I normally don't buy sachets no matter how pretty or yummy smelling they are because it kills me to throw them away after the scent is gone. These little babies are made with a refillable pouch tucked inside so they last FOREVER!!! The instructions below are basic so if you have additional questions, just comment or email me!

Happy sewing & sniffing.

*Make a small pouch approx. with a finished size of 3.5 in. X 4.5 in.

Add velcro on the inside to secure top.

*Use 1 or 2 pieces sew together (like I did) for the sachet envelope.
The fabric should measure approx. 5.5 in. X 13.5 in. Press your
edges 1/4 in on all sides and then cut and press a piece of fusible
interfacing to iron right on top of your fabric. You could skip the
interfacing if you don't already have it. If you decide to skip it, be
sure to press a double hem and stitch around all edges. Fold and
press into an envelope and stitch up sides. .
Fall Sachet
For this little Thanksgiving Hostess Gift, I will fill the pouch
with cinnamon sticks & whole cloves-YUM!!!!

* Combine rice, course salt, or baking soda with essential oils
    for an aromatherapy sachet.

* Cinnamon, Cloves, Pumpkin Pie Spice, Nutmeg are so homey.

* I just bought this Downy stuff because I make my own laundry
soap which I LOVE, but I do miss a little scent..I add just a
tiny amount to my wash and it smells fresh! I added them to
one of the sachets and it will be going in daughter #2's soccer
   bag!
