Jar and Twine Lanterns

I bought these jars a couple of
years ago when the Shabby Chic
store was going out of business.
I paid a couple dollars for them.
They problem was..I couldn't get
the tops off, but they were too cute
to get rid of. It's hard to see, but they
have a crown on them and the word
"crown", so stinkin' cute! But they
sat, and sat, and sat. I'm in the process
of a little atrium makeover and wanted
to make some lanterns. Come hell or high
water, those lids were coming off!
I broke the top off one, but super-glued it
back on and voila...my twine wrapped
lanterns. You could use any type of
jar for this project.

As I wrapped the twine, I secured it in a few spots,
using my hot glue gun. I also secured the S-Hooks
with the hot glue gun and wrapped more twine around
them.  Email me if you have any questions.

Love your jar/lanterns. What a great use for them and so pretty. The jewel thingy is so cute and really sets them off. Just found your blog tonight so going to join and look forward to seeing lots more awesome projects. Thanks for sharing. By the way, what are those jewel thingy's? Are they buttons by any chance? I have lots of jars (the mason type) and lots of great buttons so all I need to do now if find the blasted jars out in our shed, (groan). That'll be one way to get shed cleared out.
